The Australian Government Employees Superannuation Trust ("AGEST") was established in July 1990 as the industry superannuation fund for the Australian Public Sector. The fund is now known as
AGEST Super to ensure that it is more readily recognised as a superannuation fund.
Whilst it is still focussed on the public sector, it now has other sources of membership. This includes an award-winning, low cost allocated pension product.
Anyone who is eligible to contribute to super can join AGEST Super and any employer can contribute on behalf of any or all of their employees.
In addition, many members of defined benefit public sector funds direct their salary sacrifice contributions to us.
The fund has over $4.4 billion in assets and over 144,000 members, predominantly from the Commonwealth, Northern Territory and ACT Governments.
As an award winning fund and an industry super fund, we are focused solely on managing superannuation savings in the interest of members. All profits are shared by members. There are no commissions paid to financial advisers.
Straightforward. Simple. Fair.
